On this Day of the African Child, the Zanzibar Legal Services Centre (ZLSC) reaffirms its commitment to protecting and promoting children’s rights. Under the theme “Planning and Budgeting for Children’s Rights: Progress Since 2010,” we reflect on advancements in integrating children’s needs into development and budgetary frameworks—while recognizing that much more remains to be done.
ZLSC continues to:
- Advocate for child-focused policies and budgets,
- Provide legal support to vulnerable children and families,
- Monitor implementation of children’s rights,
- And empower children to claim their rights.
We urge all stakeholders to make planning and budgeting more inclusive, transparent, and child-centered—because a just future begins with investment in every child today.
Because investing in children’s rights is investing in our shared future.
